In the absence of sight, the mind can utilize sound for spatial mapping through a principle known as echolocation.

Eyedar utilizes LiDAR technology present in the iPhone 12 Pro/Max and iPhone 13 Pro/Max to scan the environment and generate a spatial map.
These maps are then converted into audio feedback by Eyedar to articulate the surroundings. Variations in pitch and volume depict the size, shape, distance, and relationship of objects.
This auditory feedback aids in mental visualization of the surroundings in great detail. A progressive training mechanism enhances this skill with time.

(Eyedar is an app that utilizes a self-voiced interface with native VoiceOver gestures for user navigation.)
